On 21 November 2025, a two-day training program titled \u201cFrom Local Problems to Advocacy Solutions\u201d<\/em> began in Tashkent for representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil society activists. The event is organized by the Representative Office of the \u201cAssociation of Central Asia\u201d in Uzbekistan in partnership with the British Embassy in Tashkent, and in close cooperation with the project\u2019s national partner \u2014 the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of civil society to identify local social issues, analyze their causes, and develop practical advocacy solutions. Participants have the opportunity to gain modern theoretical and practical knowledge in human rights, gender equality, inclusion, public engagement, and effective communication with stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening session, the Ombudsperson Feruza Eshmatova, British Embassy representative Helen Brodrick, Director of ACARO Gulnoz Mamarasulova and Chair of the Association of Central Asia Pulat Ahunov delivered remarks, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue, cooperation, and collective action in the development of civil society. It was noted that the participation of the Ombudsperson\u2019s Office as the national partner of the project further strengthens trust and communication between state institutions and civil society in the protection of human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the training, participants are studying essential topics ranging from the fundamentals of human rights to practical advocacy tools. These sessions help deepen their understanding of the root causes of local issues, encourage systematic approaches, and support the development of practical solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
